More about workshops

Sarah from Black Dog Textiles is passionate about communicating the pleasure and satisfaction which comes from transforming disregarded scraps into beautiful and exciting things - bags, pictures, pendants, masks. She loves to work with groups to explore the possibilities of whatever is to hand.

Sarah is a registered teacher and she has many years experience of working with groups of children and adults and has organised countless public events, large and small. Recently she has focused her attention on the delivery of workshops, lessons and creative play sessions with a focus on recycling. Examples include: making jewellery from waste and teaching the simple sewing techniques required to utilise fabric remnants.

Sustainability is now embedded into Scotland's national curriculum, The Curriculum for Excellence. Sarah specialises in producing workshops and lessons which link to the CfE and which enable the participants to achieve sustainability and recycling outcomes.
